Training – meeting your needs
Before devising a training plan, it's important to get to know a client and what the organisation is trying to achieve. I would review the kinds of material produced, the editorial and production processes, and the roles of those involved. It's also important to have a clear idea of the perceived areas of need and, as the training develops, to be flexible and meet new needs as they emerge.
I conduct a thorough analysis of the materials produced to help me understand which areas need attention. In due course this analysis will help to select appropriate training materials.
My experience shows that training motivates staff to tackle their work with renewed interest and enthusiasm.
